The Great Commission
Matthew 28:18-20 (WEB)
Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Reflection
The final charge: go, and make disciples. This is one of the most loved passages in Scripture, and it still speaks powerfully to the theme of mission. Jesus' final words were not a suggestion but a commission: go, and make disciples. The mission is not reserved for the specially gifted; it is given to ordinary followers, with the promise that he goes with us to the very end of the age. You do not need a platform to live on mission — only a willingness to point one person toward Jesus this week through your words or your kindness. Who is the one person God has placed within your reach? Read Matthew 28:18-20 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Lord, you have sent me as well as saved me. Give me courage to share what I have received, and help me trust your promise that you are with me always. Amen.
