Luke 24:1-6 (WEB)

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body. While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing. Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

Reflection

The empty tomb and the words that changed everything. This is one of the most loved passages in Scripture, and it still speaks powerfully to the theme of resurrection. The empty tomb is the hinge of the entire Christian story. The women came expecting to care for a body and found instead a question that still echoes: "Why do you look for the living among the dead?" Everything Jesus promised stands or falls on that morning. Where have you settled for looking for life among dead things — old habits, lost hopes, places God has already moved on from? The resurrection invites you to expect life where you had given up. Let hope rise again in one area today. Read Luke 24:1-6 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Risen Lord, you turned the deepest grief into the greatest joy. Roll away the stones in my own heart, and help me live as someone who truly believes the tomb is empty. Amen.
