Love: The Greatest Commandment
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)
Love is the essence of who God is and the foundation of our faith. In 1 Corinthians 13, we are reminded that love is patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, not proud, not rude, not self-seeking, not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs, does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. This is the kind of love that God calls us to embody. We are called to love one another as Christ loves us. This kind of love is sacrificial, unconditional, and transformative. When we choose to love in this way, we reflect the love of God to the world around us. Our love becomes a powerful testimony of God's grace and mercy. Let us strive to love with the love that surpasses all understanding.
