A Prayer for Love
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with grateful hearts, seeking Your presence and guidance. We acknowledge that You are the source of all Love, and we need Your help to walk in Your ways. Lord, we pray for strength to face the challenges of this day. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and grant us wisdom to make decisions that honor You. Help us to be patient, kind, and loving in all our interactions. We lift up those who are struggling, those who are hurting, and those who feel alone. May they experience Your comfort and peace. Use us as instruments of Your love to encourage and support others. Thank You for Your faithfulness, Your provision, and Your unfailing love. We trust in Your promises and rest in Your care. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Reflection
"A Prayer for Love" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of love, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. Paul's description of love is read at weddings, but it was written for ordinary community life. Love is patient and kind; it keeps no record of wrongs. This is not a feeling to fall into but a way of living to choose, day after day, especially when it is hard. Read the passage again and replace the word "love" with your own name. Where does it stop being true? Let that be the place you ask God to grow you this week — in patience, in kindness, in letting go of the record you keep. Read Philippians 4:6-7 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Lord, you are love, and you have loved me patiently. Teach me to love others the same way — slow to anger, quick to forgive, kind even when it costs me. Amen.
