Letting Go & Letting God

June 02, 2026 By ChurchFlow Team

Matthew 6:14-15 (ESV)

Forgiveness is a powerful act of love and grace that God calls us to practice daily. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus teaches us, 'For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.' Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is necessary for our spiritual well-being and growth. When we choose to forgive, we release the burden of anger, resentment, and bitterness, allowing God's peace and healing to work in our hearts. Just as Jesus forgave us on the cross, we are called to extend that same forgiveness to others. Remember, forgiveness is not excusing the wrong done to us, but choosing to let go of the hurt and entrusting justice to God. As we forgive, we experience freedom and restoration in our relationships with others and with God.

Reflection

How can you extend forgiveness to someone who has hurt you today? Take a moment to pray and ask God for the strength to forgive as He has forgiven you.
