Unmerited Grace: A Gift from God

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Grace is God's unmerited favor towards us, a gift freely given to us despite our unworthiness. It is the foundation of our salvation, the undeserved love that transforms our lives. We cannot earn grace through good works or deeds, but we receive it through faith in Jesus Christ. God's grace is limitless, covering our past, present, and future sins. It is a powerful force that breaks the chains of guilt, shame, and condemnation. Let us embrace God's grace with humility and gratitude, knowing that it is His love that sustains us and sets us free.
Reflection
"Unmerited Grace: A Gift from God" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of grace, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. Grace is the father running. In the culture of the story, a grown man did not run — yet this father lifts his robes and sprints toward a son who wasted everything. That is the heart of God toward every person who turns home: no lecture, no probation, only welcome. Have you been keeping your distance from God, assuming you must clean yourself up first? Come as you are. And if someone has wronged you, consider whether grace — undeserved welcome — might be the braver, more Christlike response than keeping score. Read Ephesians 2:8-9 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Father, thank you that you run to meet me.
