Serve Wholeheartedly: A Prayer Guide
Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)
Heavenly Father, thank you for the privilege of serving others. As we come before you, help us to serve with wholehearted devotion and not for human recognition. Guide us in using our unique gifts to glorify you through acts of service. May our service be a reflection of your love and grace to those around us. Teach us to serve joyfully, knowing that ultimately we serve you, Lord.
Reflection
"Serve Wholeheartedly: A Prayer Guide" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of service, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. In the kingdom of God, greatness is measured downward. The leader kneels; the first becomes last; the one who would be great becomes the servant of all. Service is not a lower calling we outgrow but the very shape of a life that follows Jesus. Look for one small, hidden act of service today — something with no audience and no reward. Serving in secret keeps the heart humble and tender. Who can you quietly help this week? Read Colossians 3:23-24 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Lord, you came not to be served but to serve. Free me from the need to be noticed, and give me joy in laying down my life in small, unseen ways. Amen.
