Growing Strong in Faith
Matthew 17:20 (NIV)
Faith is like a seed that, when nurtured, grows into a mighty tree. Just as a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20), our faith, no matter how small, can unleash God's power. Embrace challenges as opportunities to deepen your faith. Strengthen it through prayer, studying the Word, and surrounding yourself with a community of believers. Remember, faith is a journey, not a one-time decision. Allow it to grow and mature, anchoring you in God's promises.
Reflection
"Growing Strong in Faith" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of faith, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. Faith often means obeying before we understand. Long before a single drop of rain fell, obedience looked foolish to everyone watching. True faith acts on what God has said, not on what the crowd approves, and it holds steady when the evidence has not yet arrived. Is there something God has already made clear to you that you have been slow to act on? Faith grows not by waiting for certainty but by taking the next obedient step. Do the small, faithful thing today, even if no one else understands it. Read Matthew 17:20 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: God, grow my faith beyond what I can see. Give me courage to obey you before I understand, and to keep trusting when the world calls it foolishness. Amen.
