Trusting God's Guidance
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
When we seek God's guidance, we must surrender our plans and trust in His perfect ways. God's leading may not always make sense to us, but His wisdom surpasses our understanding. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.' When we lean on our own understanding, we limit God's ability to work in our lives. But when we surrender to His guidance, He aligns our paths with His divine purpose.
Reflection
"Trusting God's Guidance" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of guidance, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. God's guidance rarely arrives as a floodlight on the whole road; more often it is a lamp for the next step. He gives enough light to move forward in trust, not enough to remove the need for it. Guidance is a relationship, not a map handed over at the start. Where are you waiting for the whole plan before you will take any step? Ask God for the next step only, and take it. Direction becomes clearer in motion, as we walk close to the One who leads. Read Proverbs 3:5-6 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Lord, I want to see the whole way, but you ask me to trust you for the next step. Guide me today, and give me the faith to follow even when I cannot yet see where it leads. Amen.
