Hearts Open, Hands Raised
Psalm 95:6; Romans 12:1 (NIV)
In Psalm 95:6, we are called to worship God with reverence and awe. Worship is not just about singing songs; it's about honoring God with our whole being. When we gather to worship, let's come with hearts open and hands raised, ready to encounter the presence of God. As we lift our voices in praise and adoration, let's remember that true worship is a lifestyle, not just a Sunday activity. Let's offer our lives as a living sacrifice, pleasing and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). May our worship be genuine, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
Reflection
"Hearts Open, Hands Raised" is a short reflection to carry into your day. It speaks directly to the theme of worship, and to the ordinary faith we live out day by day. Worship is the heart's response to who God is. It is not confined to music or a Sunday service; it is a whole life turned God-ward — work, rest, and relationships offered back to him. We become like what we worship, so what we adore shapes who we are. What has been quietly taking God's place at the centre of your attention and affection? Worship re-centres the heart. Offer God something ordinary today — a task, a meal, an hour — as an act of worship. Read Psalm 95:6; Romans 12:1 again slowly, and let it shape how you live today — in your family, your work, and your church community. A prayer: Lord, you alone are worthy. Draw my heart back to you from everything that competes for it, and let my whole life, not just my words, become worship. Amen.
